What is a sight gauge?
You may have had a sight gauge installed in your oil, diesel or kerosene tank as a cheap way to monitor the level of fluid left in there. When connected to the top and bottom of a tank, the sight gauge will fill with fluid to the same level as the liquid inside showing you exactly how much you have left.
There are many reasons to replace your sight gauge tubing, if it has cracked or broken then the gauge will not function properly. If the plastic has aged and discoloured then reading the level of fluid may be difficult.
